Water Projects

According to a 2016 annual household survey, less than half of the population uses piped drinking water (46.8%). This leaves them with unclean and dirty drinking water. In addition, about
thirds of households nationwide do not have access to sanitation facilities.
Every year, about 45,000 children under the age of five die in Nepal for various reasons, including sanitation-related problems due to inadequate water supply and/or poor water quality.
However, the WHO reports that improvements in water supply and sanitation have reduced child mortality to 55% (1992).
This shows that improving water and sanitation is a critical step in significantly protecting public health.
We install water filters, well hand pumps, pipelines and tanks in mountainous and disadvantaged areas where water sources are often difficult to reach or safe drinking water is difficult to obtain. We conduct health and hygiene seminars and train household members, especially girls and women, in disease prevention.
